In bright sunshine on the 2nd a Peacock was in the Oasis paddock and a Red Admiral was nectaring on snowdrops in the Elms (photo on right, by Ian Hodgson). The first Small Tortoiseshell of the year was seen flying along the road that borders the Elms on the 5th, a Red Admiral and 2 Small Tortoiseshells were seen in warm sunshine on the 15th and 5 Small Tortoiseshells were scattered about on the 22nd. The spring's first Comma was seen in the Elms on the 27th.
