Despite the appearance of a Hairy Dragonfly along Worth track on April 26th cold NE winds ensured no further records until the appearance of another Hairy Dragonfly in the Oasis in long-awaited warmth on the 14th. An Azure Damselfly was seen the following day, Broad-bodied Chaser, Blue-tailed Damselfly and Variable Damselfly were recorded for the first time on the 17th and the first Common Blue Damselflies were evident on the 18th. The return of chilly conditions ensured little change until warmer weather encouraged the emergence of 6 Emperor Dragonflies on the 27th, but the month ended with numbers very much lower than expected.
