Although a Satellite was trapped on the 4th, cold nights ensured that subsequent sessions were fruitless and it was not until the 23rd that another moth was caught. However, this proved to be a Pale Brindled Beauty - only the third to have been recorded at the Observatory and the first since 1995 (photo on right by Ian Hodgson). That this probably owed as much to effort at this time of year than to reality was borne out by the capture of two more the following night, including an example of the dark form monacharia, together with two Dark Chestnuts and a Satellite.
