As the cold relented at last a trapping session on the 15th produced singles of Dotted Border, Dark Chestnut, Hebrew Character and Clouded Drab. A major improvement took place on the 22nd when an overnight trapping session lured 95 moths of nine species, including a lovely Oak Beauty (photo on right by Ian Hodgson), a Twin-spotted Quaker and first records of Common Quaker (52), Red Chestnut, Early Grey and Pale Pinion.
